Student Housing Options for University of Colorado, Boulder Students

The University of Colorado at Boulder has nearly 30,000 students, many of which desire a quick route to campus.  Boulder’s already tight rental market means that a student wanting quick access to campus will want to hone in their search for student housing options in one of the many condominium complexes within a close proximity of campus.

Boulder MapFor those students and parents who are not entirely familiar with the rental options immediate to campus, I have gathered some insights for students searching for housing for rent.

A one bedroom condo on The Hill, on the West side of the University of Colorado campus, are going to be $800+/month in rent since that is the hotspot for students.  The condos on the East side in my opinion are nicer and newer for the same price or less and pretty much have the same walking time to campus.  Newer condo complexes on The Hill are upwards of $1,000 per month, with a single bedroom.

I honestly think Gold Run Condominiums is probably the best value for the money near campus since it’s pretty nice, has a health club, there are lots of other kids in there so you don’t get into trouble with older folks. This condominium complex has a great location near campus, 29th Street shopping and restaurants, and Safeway, all amenities that most students are looking for.

If you are searching for student housing near campus in Boulder, it is important to start looking early.  Most properties are pre-leased for a move in before fall semester.  Students should be actively searching for where they will be living early in the spring semester, to have the most apartments to choose from, and have a leased signed for fall before spring break.
